An Opening ceremony was held to commemorate the launch of the Harvest Vision & Experimental Farm in Keosamy Village, Longxan. Dr Od Phongsavanh graciously hosted this grand occasion.
VIPs and esteemed guests came from all over Laos to witness this first of its kind training facility. They were given a warm multi-ethnic group welcome and a grand tour of the facilities. This included the Accommodation Blocks, the Mushroom Shelter, the Pig pens (which by then had seen its second generation of piglets born at the Farm), the poultry coups where interesting species of chicken and ducks are bred, the Goat Enclosure which sits on a steep slope and the Milk Cow Shed.
A sumptuous sit-down lunch followed – and what would lunch be without the mandatory long speeches that grace such events?
